You’ve really taken care of me over the years, haven’t you?
Sure, there’s been some hiccups. The sleep apnea thing has been an issue. A couple random tissue growths that we’ve had removed. And the back – the back is the big one.
Even though I’ve done a horrible job taking care of you.
I weighed over 400 pounds (well over!) for a number of years. and what do I have to show for it?
Sure, the back acts up now and again, but you’ve kept my feet in really good shape! My knees? They ache every now and then, but certainly aren’t as bad as they could be! No issues with blood pressure, and you kept me from becoming diabetic! And the whole thing that started this renaissance, my heart – even that is in pretty damn good shape!
All this time you’ve been taking care of me, when I didn’t even think about taking care of you.
I owe you an apology.
Throughout the years I have mistreated you, ignored you, hurt you, and just neglected you as a whole. And through it all you’ve kept fighting for me. You’ve kept pushing and holding on and doing all you could to take care of me.
And you’ve done a really great job.
Now it’s time for me to start taking care of you.
Already I’ve noticed the lungs working better.
The legs work better.
The knees are feeling fine!
Hopping up and out of a chair, walking around work, hell, walking around everywhere!
Slowly but surely I am going to make it up to you..
I’m going to make it up to both of us.
